Explore 200 acres of beautiful woodland gardens and enjoy our steam train! Welcome to Exbury Gardens where there is always something new to see. From spring showcasing our world famous rhododendron and azaleas, to the shady tranquillity of summer featuring our veteran trees, heavenly hydrangeas and summer gardens ablaze with colour. Autumn brings stunning reds, oranges and yellows as the leaves change colour throughout the gardens. There are over 22 miles of pathways in the Gardens, with a variety of walking surfaces and different habitats. Ex
perience the sights and sounds of a working narrow-gauge steam railway by stepping aboard The Rhododendron Line. Brainchild of the late Leopold de Rothschild 22 years ago, our narrow gauge engines that travel on the Rhododendron Line depart from Exbury Central, a replica of Aviemore Station as it would have appeared in Victorian times. The trains travel on an extended 1.5 mile track through the gardens, meandering through the Summer Lane Garden (only accessible by train) before skirting past the Rock Garden, travelling through the tunnel and then stopping off at Exbury North to refuel. The return journey includes a loop around Dragonfly Pond, where passengers can watch out for wildlife, before heading back to Exbury Central. Located in the former Estate Smithy, Mr Eddy’s Restaurant offers a delicious seasonal menu for brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, alongside a variety of cakes, ice-creams, and snacks. We also have a hot and cold Children’s menu. The restaurant offers a choice between picnic food to be enjoyed in the gardens, and food from our hot and cold servery to enjoy on the terrace or in the restaurant .We take great pride in serving delicious food using quality and local ingredients and have designed our menus to cater for everyone – from quick snacks to a leisurely lunch with a glass of wine. Afternoon tea, cakes, bakes and coffee all day..
